The SAGE International Encyclopedia of Travel and Tourism presents scholarly insight on the growing travel industry

The travel and tourism industry is predicted to grow at an average rate of 3.9% every year over the next decade, according to the World Travel & Tourism Council. In the newly launched SAGE International Encyclopedia of Travel and Tourism, scholars from around the world present challenges and opportunities that the industry faces as it continues to grow. The encyclopedia consists of more than 500 entries that address social, economic, environmental, and policy issues.


ESRC announces winners of national writing competition: Better Lives

The ESRC, in partnership with SAGE Publishing, has announced the winners of its third student writing competition 'Better Lives' where ESRC-funded PhD students were asked to explain how their research has an impact on improving the lives of people. Two winners were picked from 12 finalists with 117 applicants entering the competition in total.





Gay and lesbian job seekers face discrimination

Study shows homosexuals are 5% less likely to be offered job interview in UK

A new study shows that discrimination of gay and lesbian job seekers is commonplace within both private firms and the public sector in the UK.

The research, carried out by Dr Nick Drydakis of Anglia Ruskin University and published by SAGE in the journal Human Relations, involved 144 young people – all first-time job seekers – making 11,098 applications.




SAGE Publishing partners with the Transportation Research Board to publish Transportation Research Record

Six titles transfer to SAGE Publishing from specialist law publisher Intersentia

London, UK. SAGE Publishing today announces that six academic journal titles from Intersentia, an independent publishing house specialised in providing legal content for the professional market, will transfer to SAGE, commencing publication in early 2017.
